Buzdeo.com, the online video sharing service has launched a business hosting service
for streaming video. The service will enable businesses to add streaming video quickly and easily on their web sites/portals. Cathy Connolly, Buzdeo’s CEO believes the
introduction of a business service complements their existing consumer offering,
and through economy of scale, provide a cost effective mechanism for businesses
to use this technology. She said “many businesses are put off by the cost and the
complexity of having streaming video content on their web sites and intranet portals,
with our highly competitive streaming plans, Buzdeo really does make it possible
to deliver high quality streaming video to your customers and clients”.
The business services makes use of existing network trunks created for Buzdeo’s
consumer service. With 300Gbps of available bandwidth, Buzdeo is looking to attract
both large and small enterprises, to video streaming, offering packages to reflect
their need and use. Customers of the business service will be able to create
an account, upload a video and either embed the Buzdeo flv streaming player into their
site or code against the Buzdeo API, using a customized player. “we guarantee to
have every business customer up and running within 2 hours” Cathy Connolly added.
The technology behind streaming is the same highly scalable architecture and high
performance network that it used on Buzdeo’s consumer side. Buzdeo is based on infrastructure which enables large amounts of bandwidth to be added in very quickly. Buzdeo’s state-of-the-art
primary hosting site in the heart of the London Docklands has over 5,000sq ft of
high specification hosting space, along with 4 additional network POPs to our other
datacenter facilities, all linked by our diverse DWDM fiber ring, capable of over
300gbs of data transfer. We also operate a remote POP in the SARA facility in Amsterdam
for disaster recovery and business continuity services. Buzdeo uses the latest Juniper
routing and HP switching network equipment. “I’m very happy with our server and
network infrastructure, with its resilience and scalability, it really will deliver”
said Philip Connolly, Buzdeo’s chief technology Officer.
