How do I transfer videos from my camcorder or phone to my computer ?
Different cameras / devices have different types of connections. When you
purchased your camcorder or mobile handset, it probably came with a few leads (so
now is the time to check the box for these) the most common connector is the USB
lead,
plug it into a usb on your PC and switch the camera on, most computers will pick
up your camera ans show it up as another drive, which you can then copy files to
a local area. Camcorders generally require a Firewire Connector which may equire
a special card which you can purchase from your local computer store. Again Connect
the camcorder to your Firewire connector and you will be able to transafer videos
to your computer.

How do I add videos from my computer to buzdeo?
If you hav managed the step above and now have your videos on your computer as files
then the worst is over, adding your videos to Buzdeo is quick and safe
and easy so don't get stressed!
When you have logged in either click on the icon on your toolbar "add video" (the
area on the top right of your screen) and you will be brought to a page with a white
box and 2 buttons, the right hand one will be disabled. Click on the button "Locate
file", you may have to wait a few seconds for your operating system to display a
dialog box which will alow you to navigate to where your files are. Once you have
selected your file (Note: you can upload multiples, however if your files are more
than 10mb then we would advise that you upload them individually) then clcik the
on the right hand button "upload to server", your file will then bd uploaded to
the Buzdeo servers and into your storage area. Once the file transafer is complete
the page will redirect you automatically back to your home / video library page.

My video format is not included
in the list of files when I click the locate file button?
If your file format is not available in the file list dialog, then you
have a couple of options, either rename the file to mpeg or contact us and descivbe
the file file format and we will get it added. We aim to support all know formats
so we really like to know if there are any out there that we have missed.

Is there a limit to the size of
videos that I can upload?
Your file size limit is dictated by how much storage you have available
so technically you can upload up to that, however, with lareg files over 100mb you
do run the risk of connection problems across the web. We suggest that sharing videos
generally works better with smaller clips anyway, so ideally try to keep your clips
to less than 30mb.

Why is it taking so long
for my uploaded video to be made ready for streaming?
We try to convert / encode all our videos quickly and have dedicated servers
for this task, however, like anything its very difficult to anticiapte every surge.
As very busy periods and if you have large clips this may take up to an hour. We
will email you when your clips are ready so that you can start sharing them. In
most instances videos will be ready in around 10 minutes.

What happens to the orgional files that I uploaded?
During the process of encoding, we delete the origional. We do this to
save space. We recomend you keep files that you upload to us locally, then that
way if you delete them and you want to share them
again you can simply upload them
once more.

My video files seem to take a
long time to upload is there something wrong?
If you have ADSL Broadband, then you will find that download speed
is far greater than upload speed, that is, because generally people do far
more downloading (e.g. viewing web pages and watching video streams) than uploading
(e.g. adding your video files to Buzdeo). In a majority of ASDL providers you may
find that your upload speed is 256 kilo bits per Second, but your download speed
is 2 Mega bits per Second. For those techies out there, file size is measured in Bytes where data transfer is measured in Bits, (8bits = 1byte)
thus if you are uploading a 2 mega byte file at a speed of 256 kilo bits per second this would take roughly 60 seconds.
If you are no getting this speed and you have ASDL or broadband, then you may need
to contact your Broadband provider for a line test.
